About
Mar Thoma Sunday School was founded in 1905 on the theme “Come to Jesus, bring every child to Jesus”. The goal of Sunday School is to bring every child to Jesus, so they can learn about Him from a very young age. As the scripture says, “Teach children how they should live, and they will remember it all their lives” (Proverbs 22:6). Sunday School plays a prominent role in preparing and equipping our children with the word of God, helping to mould them for everyday life and the future.
Sunday School starts every Sunday at 9am with a worship and singing session, followed by classes until 9:55am.

Father’s Day — A special service honouring fatherhood, with a message on ‘Eli & Jairus’. A charity auction on the day raised £5,470.
Jun 2025
Sunday School Picnic — A day out at Crosby Coastal Park with games, fellowship and a bring-and-share lunch; about 65 people attended.
Jul 2025
Summer Fest — Food stalls, mocktails, a bouncy castle and games brought the whole parish together; the event raised £2,701.88.
Aug 2025
Vacation Bible School — “Jesus: The Life Architect”, based on Ephesians 2:22.
Nov 2025
World Sunday School Day — Children assisted in the Holy Communion service using a special worship order.
Dec 2025
Christmas Carol — Children presented a song and nativity play, and also joined the Gateacre Ecumenical Christmas Carol event at Belle Vale Shopping Centre.
Jan 2026
New Academic Year — The Diocesan Sunday School academic year moved from September–July to January–November, using new Samajam curriculum books.
Mar 2026
Talent Day ‘GiG ’26’ — “Growing in Grace”, a full day of competitions nurturing the children’s spiritual and personal development.
Charity Projects 2025–26
Healing Little Hearts: a fundraising drive supported life-saving heart surgery for children born with congenital heart disease, raising £2,955 for the cause.
Samaritan’s Purse Shoe Box Appeal: our Sunday School sent 113 shoe boxes packed with gifts to share the love of Jesus with children around the world.
Prathyasha Bhavan, Ranni: Rs 176,205.40 was donated to this rehabilitation centre, which supports individuals with psychiatric conditions on their path to recovery.
